Bana Buddies
A winning duo!
Young people trained to make children's journeys safer
Bana Buddies trains secondary school students
to accompany younger primary school pupils safely,
on foot or by public transport.

Bana Buddies
is a mobility and road safety training program for young people aged 15 and up.
This program enables them to accompany younger children to school or extracurricular activities, either on foot or by public transport.
Why create buddy pairs? To make the journey safer, more enjoyable, and to encourage intergenerational connections.

Citizenship
Improve children's safety by ensuring they are accompanied by older students on their way to school or activities
Relieve parents from the daily logistical burden through a reliable and supervised solution
Empower young people by giving them a meaningful and valued responsibility within their community

In exchange for their commitment and service, young buddies receive min €2 per child and per journey.
This symbolic compensation is paid directly by the parents who entrust their child’s travel to them.
It allows young people to make good use of their time while gaining their first experience of responsibility.
Bana Buddies

Today’s youth are tomorrow’s citizens!
With Bana Buddies, young participants benefit from dedicated training and hands-on experience, allowing them not only to acquire essential skills but also to strengthen their autonomy and sense of responsibility.
Additionally, by receiving compensation from the parents of the children they accompany, they also begin to develop financial independence - all while contributing to a socially impactful, civic-minded project.
